María Lucero

Studio Coordinator

In her position on the Board of Directors, María Lucero serves as the point of contact in the dance studio for members’ families. She is responsible for keeping attendance records, communicating with families about events and COVID-19 studio guidelines, supporting dance instructors, and coordinating the use of the studio.

María Lucero has been a member of Nuestras Raíces since 1997. She first came to the organization when her daughters, Aurora and Alice Lucero joined dance classes. In 2002, she formed part of the first Board of Directors. She continued her involvement with parents at Nuestras Raíces after her daughters went to college. As Studio Coordinator, she is often the first person that new members meet and provides parents and students with in-class support and information. Mrs. Lucero’s love of children led her to a position with Gardena Elementary as a campus aide from 2001 through 2012 where she provided a safe and nurturing environment for all students. It is this passion that motivates her work with Nuestras Raíces.
